Head of GTM (Outbound)

We're hiring a Head of GTM (Outbound)!

Summary

  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q2 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into - in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup led by a serial [technical] founder, and backed by a 20-person team. The product is live in private alpha.

About The Role

This is the other half of our marketing leadership. Our Fractional CMO owns the narrative — brand, content, storytelling, category creation. You own distribution. Specifically: outbound acquisition through direct outreach, automation, and AI-powered systems across email, LinkedIn, Facebook, DMs, groups, and communities.

No paid ads. No performance marketing. No CPMs. We meet people where they already hustle — social media, forums, DMs — and start conversations about their pain. The same systems serve both user acquisition and capital acquisition.

This is a 0-to-1 role. There is no existing playbook. There is no outbound motion to inherit and optimize. You're building it — from first experiment to scalable system. You'll work side by side with GTM engineers to stand up experiments fast, get data, kill what doesn't work, double down on what does, and turn winners into repeatable systems. Then you step back, work the numbers, and figure out how to scale.

You'll also manage a growing team of outbound specialists — email ops, LinkedIn automation, Facebook/social outreach, manual DM reps, GTM hackers, and pay-per-lead vendors. But you're not a delegator on day one. You're in the trenches building the machine before you run it.

This is a technical, hands-on outreach leadership role — not a brand, content, or "marketing manager" role. If your instinct is "let's run some ads" or you need someone else to build the systems you manage — this isn't the right fit.

Compensation

Up to $400,000 max total compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated (amount reflects combined cash and equity components).

What Success Looks Like in 30 Days

  • You've designed and launched experiments across multiple outbound channels — email, LinkedIn, Facebook, social DMs — with your GTM engineers, and you have real data coming back
  • You've identified which channels show signal and which are noise — and you've already killed at least one that isn't working
  • You've stood up tracking and measurement so we can see what's happening across every experiment in one place
  • You've started turning your first winning experiment into a repeatable system — documented, automated where possible, and ready to hand off or scale
  • You've demonstrated that you can move at startup speed: experiment → data → decision → next experiment, measured in days not weeks

What You'll Do

  • Build outbound from zero — there is no existing motion. You design the experiments, stand up the infrastructure, and create the playbook from scratch
  • Work hands-on with GTM engineers — you're in the tools alongside them: configuring sequences, wiring up automations, reviewing data, iterating on copy and targeting in real time
  • Run fast experiments — design, launch, measure, and kill or scale outbound experiments across email, LinkedIn, Facebook, social DMs, and community channels. Cycle time is days, not sprints
  • Step back and work the numbers — once experiments produce data, you analyze what's working, model CAC by channel, and decide where to pour gas and where to cut
  • Scale what works into systems — turn winning experiments into repeatable, automated playbooks that can be handed off to specialists or run by AI
  • Manage the outbound team — as experiments mature, you lead email ops, LinkedIn automation, Facebook/social outreach, manual DM reps, GTM hackers, and pay-per-lead vendors. You set targets, run accountability, and keep everyone moving fast
  • Push AI automation hard — identify where AI agents, AI-varied messaging, and automated flows can replace manual effort without sacrificing quality or stealth
  • Protect stealth — we operate in stealth mode. Outreach must feel organic, never expose the product prematurely, and keep us off competitors' radar
  • Collaborate with the CMO — align outbound messaging with brand narrative; ensure what you say in DMs matches what the website says
  • Report on performance with clarity and take ownership of results — good or bad

What We're Looking For

  • Technical and hands-on — you can configure outreach tools, wire up automations, build dashboards, and run experiments yourself. You're not someone who draws strategy decks and waits for others to execute
  • 0-to-1 experience — you've built an outbound motion from nothing before, not just inherited and optimized one. You know what it feels like when nothing is working yet and you have to find signal fast
  • Deep fluency with GTM tooling — Clay, Phantom Buster, Apollo, Instantly, Dripify, HubSpot, Zapier/Make, GoHighLevel, or similar. You've built with these tools, not just managed people who use them
  • AI-native — you're already using AI to vary copy, personalize at scale, automate sequences, and compress cycle time. You have strong opinions about what works and what's hype
  • Data-driven decision maker — you build the dashboards, track CAC by channel, model unit economics, and make kill/scale decisions from the numbers. No vibes, no vanity metrics
  • Fast experimenter — your default mode is: hypothesis → experiment → data → decision. You measure in days, not quarters. You kill losers fast and double down on winners
  • Can lead a team — you've managed outbound specialists, SDRs/BDRs, or GTM operators. You know how to set targets, run accountability, and get results from people across skill levels. But you're also comfortable being the best individual contributor on the team when needed
  • Systems thinker — you see the whole outreach pipeline, not just individual channels. You know how to make email, LinkedIn, and social DMs work together instead of in silos
  • Startup speed — you thrive in environments where there's no playbook, things change daily, and the answer to "what should we try next?" is "let's find out by tomorrow"
  • Stealth-aware — you understand why early-stage companies need to be deliberate about what they expose and to whom

What You're NOT

  • Not a marketing manager who delegates everything and lives in slide decks
  • Not a brand marketer, content strategist, or creative director (that's our CMO)
  • Not a paid media buyer or performance marketer — we don't run ads
  • Not someone who needs a finished playbook handed to them — you build the playbook
  • Not someone who needs clean data and a stable operation before they can do their job — you create both from nothing
