Role Overview

As VP of Engineering at Anime Universe, you’ll lead the charge in building the next-gen platforms our global anime, gaming, and cosplay community lives for. You’ll set the tech vision, rally top-tier teams, and scale systems that are fast, reliable, and downright awesome.

 

What You'll Own

Set the Tech Vision:

  • Define and share a clear technical strategy that supports Anime Universe’s goals and growth.

Push Innovation:

  • Create a culture that embraces new tech to level up the user experience.

Run Engineering Operations:

  • Oversee development from start to finish—keeping quality high and timelines tight.
  • Manage budgets, tools, and team capacity to keep everything on track.

Lead and Grow the Team:

  • Hire, coach, and inspire top engineering talent.
  • Set clear goals, give feedback, and celebrate wins.

Work Across Teams:

  • Partner with product to turn ideas into real, working features.
  • Sync with design and QA to build smooth, reliable user experiences.

Keep Quality High:

  • Set and uphold coding standards, architecture, and best practices.
  • Use testing and monitoring to make sure systems stay secure, fast, and scalable.

Leadership Experience:

  • You’ve led engineering teams for over a decade, managing complex projects and delivering results at scale.
  • You know how to guide both people and platforms through fast-paced growth.

Technical Expertise:

  • You bring deep knowledge of software development, system architecture, and emerging tech in entertainment and digital media.
  • You bridge big-picture vision with hands-on technical insight.

Strategic Planning:

  • You craft and execute tech strategies that fuel business growth and boost user engagement.
  • You know how to balance long-term vision with real-world delivery.

Communication Skills:

  • You make complex technical ideas easy to understand.
  • You build trust and alignment across teams by keeping communication clear and collaborative.

Problem-Solving Aptitude:

  • You thrive in fast-moving environments and know how to turn challenges into smart, scalable solutions.
  • Your decisions are grounded in logic, backed by data, and focused on impact.

Seasoned Perspective:

  • With over 10 years in engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing complex technical projects and teams.​

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in entertainment, gaming, or digital media (bonus points if you’re into anime)
  • A Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications like CSM, PMP, or anything that shows you know how to lead and ship
  • A global mindset with experience leading teams across borders and cultures
