Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and possess the skills necessary to provide exceptional care for dogs and other pets in our facility. This role involves maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals, assisting with their daily needs, and ensuring their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
• Support dog training initiatives by reinforcing positive behaviors.
• Engage with pet owners to provide excellent customer service and address any inquiries regarding their pets.
• Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive atmosphere for both staff and animals.

Experience

• Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
• Knowledge of pet grooming practices is beneficial.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
