About the role 

We're looking for a Junior Accountant to handle core financial tasks such as preparing journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivables, and ensuring accurate transaction recording. Ideal candidates have a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in Xero and strong attention to detail. The role will be reporting to the Head of Finance.

Job responsibilities

• Prepare journal and data entries
• Record transactions and posting these to various accounts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Review invoices generated
• Manage corporate credit cards
• Perform account reconciliations
• Maintain deferred revenue schedules in compliance with revenue recognition policies
• Maintain accounting systems and automated workflows
• Handle ad-hoc accounting or administrative tasks

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance and other related fields
• Less than 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, and other related fields.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and financial analysis
• Proficiency in using accounting software and tools. Experience in Xero is required
• Intermediate MS Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of tax regulations and familiarity with tax compliance processes
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to work on Mon to Fri, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM IST
• Willing to work remotely, full-time
