Role: Engineer IV (Utility Design – PE Licensed)
Location: Houston, TX (CNP Tower) – Onsite 4 Days/Week (Remote Fridays)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract with possible extension

Job Description:
This role requires a detail-oriented engineer who can contribute to design, analysis, and implementation of utility systems, while working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop engineering solutions for utility infrastructure projects (gas, electric, transmission, or distribution systems)
- Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and system evaluations to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and other engineering disciplines for successful project delivery
- Support project planning, execution, and troubleshooting of engineering issues
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codes
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and design packages
- Provide input on process improvements and engineering best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in utility engineering (gas, electric, pipeline, transmission, or distribution)
- Proven ability in engineering design, analysis, and problem-solving
- Experience working with engineering tools, drawings, and design documentation
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and compliance requirements
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in utility design or related project/construction engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with utility companies or EPC firms
- Familiarity with Houston/Texas utility infrastructure projects
- Strong background in field coordination and project execution
Work Schedule
- Onsite 4 days/week (Houston, TX)
- Remote 1 day/week (Friday flexibility)

- Only candidates with active PE License will be considered
- Local or nearby candidates to Houston are highly preferred
- Role requires hands-on engineering and design experience in utility environments
