We’re seeking an experienced, results-driven Director of Service to lead our fire and life safety service operations. This role involves overseeing teams across multiple locations, improving operational processes, driving revenue growth, and ensuring top-tier customer service and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fire sprinkler, alarm, and inspection service teams
- Manage budgets, revenue, and performance metrics
- Drive growth in service sales and national accounts
- Ensure safety training, quality control, and process improvement
- Oversee billing, job costing, and inventory management
- Develop and mentor team members
- Support strategic planning and technology adoption
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments and leadership
- Ensure effective communication internally and externally.
- Comply with HR and safety procedures.
- Conduct weekly team meetings with all relevant departments.
- Monitor job status and manage materials, rentals, subcontractors, and intercompany coordination.
- Oversee timely billing and payment tracking.
- Monitor division profitability and review change orders.
- Set and track departmental growth goals annually.
- Ensure compliance with all SOPs including job setup, contracts, POs, etc.
- Enforce inventory controls and optimize purchasing strategies.
- Manage subcontractors and review invoices for approval.
- Analyze and report on budget-to-actual job costing.
- Drive labor productivity and quality assurance.
- Conduct semi-annual leadership reviews on overhead costs.
- Promote customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback.
- Work to reduce employee turnover and improve retention.
- Oversee training and development programs at all levels.
- Maintain expertise across all areas of the division.
- Foster collaboration and a positive team culture across all offices and departments.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in team leadership within fire/life safety or related field
- Experience in fire sprinkler/alarm design, sales, or fieldwork preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service management software
