Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Islamabad office. This role is a hybrid of entry-level accounting, tax support, and financial data management, assisting Senior Accountants and CPAs in reviewing financial statements, preparing tax return drafts, and maintaining highly organized client records.
Training is provided for U.S. tax software and internal systems. Accuracy, professionalism, and willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Tax Support
- Assist Senior Accountants/CPAs in examining and interpreting financial statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, inconsistencies, or variances.
- Enter financial information into U.S. tax preparation software (UltraTax, etc.).
- Prepare initial drafts of personal and business tax returns.
- Maintain accurate financial records, workpapers, and digital files.
- Support accounting team with ad-hoc tasks and special projects.
Data Entry & Documentation
- Enter client financial information with a high level of accuracy.
- Review financial documents (bank statements, receipts, PDFs) for completeness.
- Organize, tag, and upload documents within UltraTax and other workflow systems.
- Maintain structured and clear digital folders following SOPs.
- Manage Excel spreadsheets and data tracking tools daily.
Workflow Communication
- Communicate professionally with the U.S. team via email, Slack, or PM tools.
- Follow established U.S. workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Learn new accounting and tax platforms quickly.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Protect sensitive financial information at all times.
- Uphold internal data security practices and confidentiality requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or currently in progress).
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy is critical.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to follow structured workflows and manage large volumes of documents.
- Fast learner capable of mastering new software and tax tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving U.S. clients in a back-office or accounting role.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, accounting systems, or tax software (UltraTax, Drake, Lacerte, etc.).
- Knowledge of basic accounting and financial terminology.
- Experience working with high-net-worth or upscale clientele.
