Role: Radiation Therapist
Radiation Therapist Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for radiation therapy procedures and explain treatment plans
- Operate radiation therapy equipment such as linear accelerators and imaging devices
- Administer prescribed doses of radiation accurately and safely
- Position patients correctly to ensure precise treatment delivery
- Monitor patients during treatment sessions and observe for adverse reactions
- Review treatment prescriptions and verify treatment parameters before procedures
- Maintain accurate patient treatment records and documentation
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, and oncology nurses
- Perform routine quality assurance and safety checks on radiation equipment
- Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, side effects, and aftercare
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control protocols
- Assist in developing individualized treatment plans and schedules
- Monitor patient progress and report changes or complications to the medical team
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to cancer patients
- Follow strict confidentiality and ethical healthcare standards
