Position Details: Special Education Teacher

• Title: Special Education Teacher
• Location: Steger, IL
• Duration: ASAP to 25 - 26 School year end
• Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
• Position Type: Contract
• Working Hours: 30-35 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
• Student Age Group:  K-1 self-contained life skills classroom
• Case Load: 8 to 10 students

Responsibilities: SpEd Teacher

• Teach in a K-1 self-contained life skills classroom.
• Support and accommodate 8 to 10 students, several of whom have an Autism diagnosis.
• Assist students who are non-verbal or have limited verbal abilities.
• Provide support to students typically with assistance from paraprofessionals.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other school staff.
• Work on IEPs and or any other relevant tasks assigned.

Qualifications: Special Education Teacher

• Relevant Bachelors and or Masters degree.
• Active IL PEL license with LBS1 endorsement.
• At least 1 year of SPED teacher experience preferred.
• Experience with ULS preferred.
