We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and outstanding image quality. Position Overview

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality breast imaging procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols, MQSA standards, ACR guidelines, and departmental policies. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate diagnostic imaging while providing compassionate care and education to patients throughout the exam process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures following established protocols and regulatory standards
  • Ensure proper patient positioning, technical factor selection, and optimal image quality
  • Review images for diagnostic quality and completeness prior to submission
  • Verify patient identity, obtain relevant medical history, and prepare patients for exams
  • Explain procedures clearly, answer questions, and provide supportive, compassionate patient care
  • Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, and departmental quality standards
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, image review processes, and equipment performance checks
  • Accurately document procedures and patient information within the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and breast health team members to coordinate patient care
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations or patient reactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked imaging environment

 

Qualifications

Required

  • ARRT Certification in Mammography (M)
  • South Carolina Radiologic Technologist License
  • Compliance with South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
