Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join a collaborative Acute Care & Rehabilitation team in beautiful Greenwood, South Carolina. In this role, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation professionals to help patients regain independence and safely transition through recovery following illness, injury, or surgery.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Treatment

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, cognition, and overall functional independence
  • Educate patients and caregivers on transfers, adaptive equipment, safety strategies, and home modifications
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
  • Support safe and effective discharge planning through interdisciplinary collaboration

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and rehabilitation colleagues to coordinate patient care
  • Communicate patient progress, goals, and recommendations clearly and professionally
  • Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team discussions

Professional Development & Quality Improvement

  • Participate in continuing education, departmental training, and professional development initiatives
  • Assist with mentoring students and newly hired staff
  • Contribute to quality initiatives focused on patient outcomes, early mobility, reduced length of stay, and readmission prevention
  • Maintain compliance with all organizational, state, and accreditation standards

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (ACOTE-accredited or equivalent)

Licensure

  • Current South Carolina Occupational Therapist license
    OR ability to obtain licensure prior to start date

Certifications

  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent
