The Sales and Business Development Executive will play a key role in expanding SPARK’s reach by building relationships with employers, generating new business opportunities, and aligning training solutions with workforce needs. This role supports SPARK’s mission by connecting organizations to skilled, job-ready talent and ensuring strong partnerships that drive long-term workforce impact.

Position Overview:

The Sales and Business Development Executive will play a key role in expanding SPARK Indiana’s partnerships with employers, training providers, and workforce development agencies. This person will focus on identifying new business opportunities, cultivating long-term client relationships, and promoting SPARK’s unique approach to workforce upskilling and mentorship-based staff augmentation.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Identify and engage potential corporate and public-sector partners across Indiana and neighboring markets.
     
  • Present SPARK’s value proposition to HR leaders, workforce directors, and business owners, emphasizing our ability to deliver customized upskilling and staffing solutions.
     
  • Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline through research, outreach, networking, and partnership building.
     
  • Collaborate with the SPARK program team to align training and staffing solutions with client workforce needs.
     
  • Prepare proposals, partnership presentations, and service agreements that clearly communicate SPARK’s mission and ROI.
     
  • Represent SPARK Indiana at workforce events, business forums, and community partnerships to raise awareness and generate leads.
     
  • Track client engagement, follow-up activity, and contract performance using CRM tools.
     
  • Provide feedback from employers to inform future program design and service improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
     
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or client relations—preferably in staffing, workforce development, or education services.
     
  • Proven ability to build trust and long-term partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
     
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident, consultative approach.
     
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
     
  • Passion for workforce innovation and community impact.
