The MES Engineer position focuses on supporting, maintaining,
enhancing, and implementing manufacturing systems while
collaborating closely with business leaders, system users, and
cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for PLC
development and support, application development and support, and
resolving system-related issues across multiple shop floor
technologies, including MES, SPC, SQL, and PLC integration.
Additionally, the MES Engineer provides technical support for
machine connectivity, reporting, and analytics, with a primary
focus on improving quality, yield, equipment efficiency, and
overall machine integration.



Job Responsibilities

Provide technical support for shop floor systems and data
integration to and from these systems.

Coordinate projects for improvements from minor enhancements
through to site implementations.

Continue to expand understanding of manufacturing processes and
apply this knowledge to existing and new systems solutions.

Collaborate cross functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, and
Operations on a daily basis to identify, troubleshoot, and solve
issues.

Independently troubleshoot reported problems affecting production
in various technical platforms.

Use your initiative and self-motivation combined with a
willingness to quickly understand the environment, and work hands
on to solve moderate business challenges.

Develop and support MES applications.

Configure and support shop floor networks (Layer 2) in conjunction
with network engineers.

Be willing and able to provide 24/7 support.

Travel up to 40% as projects require.

 

Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, or a similar field and 2 years of relevant experience
OR a high school diploma with 6 years of relevant experience
working with shop floor systems in lieu of a degree.

Strong knowledge of remote desktop & ThinManager .

Strong knowledge of Rockwell (FactoryTalk) solutions.

Strong knowledge of Aveva/WonderWare solutions.

Knowledge of MS SQL Server.

Knowledge of PLC Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley).

Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.

Self-starter, curious, and inquisitive.
