Civil Safety Engineer - Bengaluru

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies, programs, and initiatives in compliance with local and national regulations.
• Monitor construction sites for adherence to safety standards and provide guidance to onsite personnel.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate safety measures into project plans.
• Conduct regular training and workshops to educate staff and subcontractors on safety practices.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on safety incidents, observations, and recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain documentation of safety inspections, audits, and compliance records.
• Advise on the selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, proposing actionable corrective measures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices regarding civil safety engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety engineering within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
• Proficient in safety management software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey safety information.
