Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough safety assessments and risk analysis for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Develop and implement safety policies, programs, and initiatives in compliance with local and national regulations.
- Monitor construction sites for adherence to safety standards and provide guidance to onsite personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate safety measures into project plans.
- Conduct regular training and workshops to educate staff and subcontractors on safety practices.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on safety incidents, observations, and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain documentation of safety inspections, audits, and compliance records.
- Advise on the selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents and near-misses, proposing actionable corrective measures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices regarding civil safety engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety engineering within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
- Proficient in safety management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey safety information.
