Project Management Office (PMO) Manager - Boston

Compensation: $120,000 - $145,000 per year, based on experience

What you'll do:

As a PMO Manager, you'll own the operational infrastructure that ensures strategic initiatives move from kickoff to successful completion. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Designing the frameworks, standards, and workflows that keep projects from going off the rails
  • Monitoring progress across the entire portfolio and surfacing issues before they become disasters
  • Leading weekly status meetings with executives and giving them the unfiltered truth about what's working and what isn't
  • Making the tough calls on resource allocation when ten projects need the same three people
  • Developing project managers and team leads so they can run tighter, smarter initiatives
  • Creating executive dashboards that show actual outcomes, not just activity metrics
  • Jumping into stalled projects, diagnose what's broken, and get momentum back
  • Identifying patterns in project failures and redesigning the systems that keep causing them

You'll stand out if you bring:

  • A consulting background from MBB, Big 4, or respected boutique firms
  • 3-5+ years running projects, programs, or leading PMO functions
  • Hands-on experience driving large-scale, multi-stakeholder transformation programs
  • Deep knowledge of how and when to apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
  • The ability to manage up, down, and sideways, communicating clearly with everyone from analysts to the C-suite
