Director of Finance – Early Stage Startup (Remote)
NovaForge Technologies is a fast-growing 2024 startup building productivity and automation software that helps businesses and individuals cut repetitive work and actually get stuff done. We make workflow tools, task & time tracking, and subscription management systems sold as one-time purchases or recurring subs.
We’re looking for a hands-on Director of Finance to build our entire finance function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role where you’ll have direct influence on how we scale. Perfect for someone who likes ownership and wants to shape systems instead of just maintaining them.
What you’ll do:
• Build and own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Set up proper accounting systems and processes (QuickBooks, Stripe, reporting dashboards, etc.)
• Track and optimize key SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, revenue recognition)
• Handle day-to-day finance ops, compliance, taxes, and payroll
• Prepare clean financial reports and models for leadership and future investors
• Spot cost efficiencies and support pricing/subscription strategy
• Be the main finance voice in leadership decisions as we grow
What we’re looking for:
• 5+ years in finance/accounting with startup or SaaS experience (strong plus)
• Comfortable building processes from scratch in a small team
• Solid experience with financial modeling, cash flow, and subscription revenue
• Analytical but practical — you can explain numbers to non-finance people
• Bonus: experience with fundraising prep, investor reporting, or scaling finance ops
