Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, including sit down, order picker and reach forklifts, to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and adherence to OSHA safety standards. The Forklift Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth shipping and receiving operations, order picking, and materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit down, reach, and order picker forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload goods
• Safely handle materials using RF scanners and warehouse management systems for accurate inventory tracking
• Perform order picking and ensure correct items are loaded or shipped according to specifications
• Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including documentation and inventory updates
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA regulations
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals
• Assist with construction or maintenance tasks as needed involving heavy equipment operation
• Perform heavy lifting as required for materials handling tasks

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting
• Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, order picking, shipping & receiving procedures
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and RF scanners for inventory control
• Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• OSHA certification or training preferred
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
• Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures at all times
• Warehouse experience or prior warehouse supervisor experience is a plus
• Valid certification for forklift operation required; additional certifications for crane or clamp truck operation are advantageous
