Pecan Solutions develops point-of-sale (POS) and payment software for hospitality businesses, including restaurants, cafés, and bars. Our platform supports order management, payment processing, reporting, and third-party integrations. We are focused on reliability, performance, and continuous delivery in a production environment that processes live transactions daily.
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our POS and payments platform. This role focuses on manual testing, functional validation, and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced SaaS environment. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a structured testing approach, and a passion for improving user experience and product quality.
• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools
• Validate web, mobile, and API functionality to ensure system reliability
• Collaborate with product managers and developers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
• Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements
• Assist in maintaining test documentation and testing processes
• Support automation efforts by identifying test cases suitable for automation
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1–4 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA processes
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)
• Basic knowledge of APIs and tools such as Postman
• Familiarity with SQL or databases for data validation
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and organizational ability
• Experience in POS, fintech, or payment systems
• Basic knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium or Cypress
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes
• Experience testing in cloud-based or SaaS environments
• Understanding of performance and security testing fundamentals
