Assurance Services Manager - Public Accounting

The role of the Assurance Services Manager is critical in managing engagements for assurance clients. This position will function as a technical resource for engagement teams, facilitating the application of professional standards and internal policies. Additionally, the Assurance Services Manager will be responsible for the review and timely completion of assurance client engagements across various industry sectors.

**Major Responsibilities:**

- Collaborate closely with partners, team members, and client personnel.

- Exhibit a profound understanding of general accounting standards, as well as auditing and accounting procedures for review services.

- Plan and execute assurance engagements across diverse industry groups in alignment with Client Service Standards.

- Identify and communicate relevant accounting and assurance issues to fellow engagement team members. - Recognize opportunities for performance improvement.

- Maintain direct communication with clients.

- Supervise the assurance staff assigned to specific engagements.

- Develop and oversee the budget related to engagements.

- Review client engagement documentation and work papers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies and professional standards, including issues memoranda, financial statements, and related disclosures.

- Assist in organizing and delivering periodic technical training sessions for the department.

**Development of Team Members:**

- Inspire and earn the respect of subordinates.

- Demonstrate positive contributions to the firm’s recruitment, education, development, and retention initiatives.

- Serve as a Mentor, Coach, and/or Career Advocate when assigned.

- Provide Team Members with timely and constructive feedback, thereby supporting the firm’s performance management process.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Preferred Experience/Background/Skills:**

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

- A minimum of six years of relevant experience.

- CPA designation is required.

- Exceptional supervisory, analytical, and leadership capabilities.

- Capacity to meet challenging client demands while providing services, coupled with strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research skills.

- Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting and assurance services, including the application of foundational theories.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel are required). Familiarity with ProSystems, Engagement FX, or other paperless audit technologies such as Creative Solutions or CaseWare is preferred. - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

- Strict adherence to professional ethics.

- Capability to contribute successfully to the strategic objectives of the firm’s business unit.
