**Job Summary:**  

 

Partner with students, parents, coaches, and healthcare professionals to provide complete care for student-athletes in the local school district. The focus is on preventing injuries and illnesses, promoting wellness, performing evaluations and diagnoses, offering emergency care, as well as treatment, rehabilitation, and support for the overall health of everyone involved in school sports.

 

**Essential Functions:**  

- Always work with a positive mindset and effort to help achieve your goals while supporting others in reaching theirs.

- Focus on five key areas: preventing injuries, evaluating and diagnosing health issues, providing immediate care during emergencies, helping with recovery and rehabilitation, and managing healthcare operations.

- Collaborate closely with a licensed physician and work together with students, parents, coaches, and healthcare teams to provide high-quality care.

- Manage important tasks such as checking patients, assessing injuries, collecting medical histories, fitting braces and equipment, and creating rehabilitation and injury prevention plans.

- Keep detailed and accurate records using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Help patients with self-care, create home exercise programs, and share educational resources with the community.

- Provide expert care in areas like injury prevention, evaluation, emergency response, rehabilitation, and medical documentation.

- Track patient progress, outcomes, and share insights with the rehabilitation manager.

- Lead community education on athletic training, wellness programs, and injury prevention.

- Work with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth coordination of patient care.

- Attend and share ideas in community and departmental meetings to help meet program goals.

- Communicate clearly with the athletic director and rehab manager to organize schedules, ensure availability, and provide coverage for events.

- Help grow the sports medicine program through new ideas and community involvement.

- Provide medical coverage at high school sporting events, being a trusted resource for athletes and coaches

. - Participate in community wellness events and help with sports performance training programs.

- Be the main contact for high school athletic training needs and assist with patient appointments and consultations as needed.

 

**Qualifications:**  

- Must have an active Michigan License when submitting your application (pending license is acceptable if you have already applied).  

- Required: 2 years of experience in Sports Medicine.  

 

**Certification Requirements:**  

- BLS (AHA) Certification.

 

**State License Requirements:**  

- Must have a license active in Michigan when applying.
