**Job Summary:**  

The individual will collaborate with students, parents, coaches, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for student-athletes within the local school district. The primary focus will include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, emergency and immediate care, as well as treatment, rehabilitation, and support to ensure the overall health and well-being of individuals participating in the school athletic programs.

**Essential Functions:**  

The incumbent shall consistently adopt an outward mindset and demonstrate exemplary effort in achieving personal goals and objectives while assisting others in achieving theirs. 

The role emphasizes five core competencies: injury prevention, evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care and first response, rehabilitation and recovery, and healthcare operations management.

This position requires close collaboration with a licensed physician and engagement with students, parents, coaches, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, comprehensive care. 

Key responsibilities include patient triage, injury assessments, medical history collection, brace and equipment fitting, and the development and implementation of rehabilitation and injury prevention plans.

The individual must maintain detailed and accurate records utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, coordinate patient self-care strategies, design home exercise programs, and provide educational resources to the community. 

Expert care will be delivered across the continuum of injury prevention, evaluation, emergency response, rehabilitation, and medical documentation.

The professional will monitor patient progress, track outcomes, and communicate insights to the rehabilitation manager. 

Additionally, the individual will lead community education initiatives related to athletic training, wellness programs, and injury prevention strategies. Collaboration with healthcare professionals is essential to ensure seamless coordination of patient care. 

Participation in and contribution to community and departmental meetings will be expected to advance program objectives. 

Effective communication with the athletic director and rehabilitation manager is critical to organizing schedules, ensuring availability, and providing event coverage.

The role will also support the growth and development of the sports medicine program through innovative initiatives and community engagement.

 On-site medical coverage for high school athletic events will be provided, serving as a trusted resource for athletes and coaches. The individual will participate in community wellness events and contribute to sports performance training programs.

The incumbent will act as the primary point of contact for high school athletic training needs, facilitating patient appointments and consultations as necessary.

**Qualification:**  

An active Michigan license is required at the time of submission. A pending license will be accepted if the candidate has already applied; however, the estimated time of arrival must be included in the submission. A minimum of two years of experience in sports medicine is required.

**Certification Requirements:**   - Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)

**State License Requirements:**  

- Michigan

**Additional License Requirements:**   - The license must be active at the time of submission.
