The Certified Surgical Technologist is tasked with providing safe, effective, and high-quality patient- and family-centered care within the operating room environment. This role encompasses various surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general surgery, podiatric, pain management, urology, and endoscopy at this facility. The individual is responsible for managing the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. A comprehensive understanding of the procedures being performed is essential, enabling the surgical technologist to anticipate the needs of the surgeon effectively. Furthermore, the technologist must maintain a vigilant presence to uphold the integrity of the sterile field. This position supports the overarching mission, vision, and values of the organization.
**Qualifications**
Candidates must be graduates of a surgical technology program accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in Surgical Technology (ARC/STA). A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory. Individuals who have received training in the United States Armed Forces will also be considered. Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required within one year of hiring and must be maintained throughout the duration of employment. Preference will be given to candidates with two years of recent experience in scrubbing within an acute care facility.
