**Job Title: Echocardiography Technician**

**Job Description:**

The Echocardiography Technician helps doctors by performing heart ultrasound tests. These tests help doctors see how the heart is working and identify any problems. The right person for this job should be skilled with technology, pay close attention to details, and care about patients' safety and comfort.

**Main Duties:**

- Perform heart ultrasound tests, such as transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).

- Use and take care of ultrasound machines and software.

- Get clear pictures and correct measurements of the heart's structures and functions.

- Work with doctors to share early findings and make sure results are interpreted quickly.

- Prepare patients for tests and keep them comfortable and safe during the process.

- Keep patient records accurate and update them in the electronic medical system.

- Regularly clean and check equipment to ensure it works well; report any problems right away.

- Follow safety and infection control rules. - Take part in ongoing education to keep skills and certifications current.

**Requirements:**

- Completed a program in cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography. 

- Required. - Must be a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). 

- Required. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

- Required. - Experience in performing echocardiograms and understanding heart anatomy and function. 

- Required. - At least 1 year of experience in a clinical echocardiography setting.

 - Strongly Preferred. - Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).

 - Strongly Preferred. - Knowledge of advanced imaging techniques. 

- Strongly Preferred.

- Understanding of heart anatomy, physiology, and health issues.

- Good communication and people skills.

- Ability to work well independently and within a team.

- Strong organization and time management abilities.

- Caring and focused on providing good patient care.

**Certification Requirements:**

- ACLS - BLS - PALS

**State License Requirements:**

- Must have a license to practice in New Hampshire or have a Compact license.

**Additional License Information:**

- You must have your NH or Compact license ready when you apply; the facility will not wait for the license to be obtained.
