The primary responsibility of the Echocardiogram Technologist is as follows:
- Execute all fundamental adult cardiac echocardiogram procedures.
- Edit tracings accurately. - Measure and input data into the computer system.
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal cardiac findings.
- Perform cardiac sonographer duties to satisfy departmental requirements, including the identification of arrhythmias and the understanding of specific cardiac and related diagnoses to ensure the acquisition of optimal studies.
**Qualifications:**
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program or an RDCS/RCS eligible background with at least one year of experience in cardiac echocardiography.
- Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echocardiography.
- Licensing by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire. - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
**Certification Requirements:**
- ARDMS
- BLS
- NH License in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy - RCS - RDCS
