Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced NETA Level III Electrical Testing Technician to perform advanced electrical testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing on low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment (circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motors, PTs, CTs, cables).
  • Use advanced test equipment: Doble, TTR, Megger/Insulation Resistance, VLF, CT ratio & saturation, Hi-Pot, Primary/Secondary Injection.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues using schematics, manuals, and field diagnostics.
  • Conduct maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and performance verification of electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with latest NETA standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Lead field service operations, manage scope, and update internal teams and clients.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians.
  • Prepare accurate reports, test documents, and project records.
  • Conduct commissioning activities, including plans, checklists, and functional performance tests.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology OR equivalent field/military experience.
  • NETA Level III certification required (Level IV preferred).
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on testing experience (480V–750kV).
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment and interpreting schematics/drawings.
  • Strong understanding of breakers, transformers, switchgear, PTs, CTs, and motors.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage field projects effectively.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work in field conditions, climb ladders, stand for long periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Ability to pass drug screen, background check, and physical/respiratory fit test (if required).
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Salary & Relocation Details

  • Starting rate: $71.50/hour (higher compensation based on experience & certification)
  • Maximum rate: To be discussed after evaluating a qualified candidate
