**Duties:**
- Be the go-to person for all safety, environmental, and regulatory issues. Help and support plant teams.
- Carry out specific policies and procedures at the site, following company guidelines.
- Check the facility for safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance. Share the findings with department managers and the Plant Manager to improve.
- Make sure the plant follows local regulations during operations.
- Organize and provide training for all plant workers, including hourly staff, leaders, and managers, on safety and regulatory programs. Keep track of training compliance.
- Take part in investigating accidents. Use methods like Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 6W2H, and the 5 Whys to find out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again.
- Lead the safety meetings for plant shifts and their activities.
- Be the main contact for the Workers' Compensation program and related policies with RPC Corporate.
- Help Plant Leadership find and fix unsafe behaviors and conditions to aim for zero injuries.
- Act as the point of contact for the medical clinic, nurse case managers, and insurance representatives regarding medical restrictions.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by leadership.
**Required:**
- Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA/EPA) that apply to manufacturing.
- Understanding of Industrial Hygiene, Labor Relations, Loss Control, and Basic Engineering Principles.
- Familiarity with State Workers Compensation laws and regulations.
- Completion of the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Course is preferred, or the 30-Hour certification is preferred.
- Good speaking and writing skills in English.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks that may conflict with each other.
- 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing and safety work is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
**Desired:**
- Being able to speak and write in both Spanish and English is highly preferred.
- Previous experience with OSHA and EPA regulations related to manufacturing and workers' compensation is helpful.
