This job is based in an office and reports to the Chief Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for structural steel components. 

This means you will need to understand how to measure and calculate materials needed for construction. Y

our tasks will include creating documents that support the preparation of complete estimates.

You will need to measure different types of structural steel parts and understand the details needed for each.

 You will also need to check quotes from vendors and subcontractors to make sure they meet the contract requirements.

You will create summaries of estimates that highlight basic and special requirements for the work needed, such as items that need to be bought from suppliers.

Additionally, you will help train less experienced estimators.

**Qualifications:**

- You must have at least five (5) years of experience in the structural steel industry in a similar role.

- You should understand how steel is made and how it is put together in construction.

- You must have experience working in construction.

*Preferred:**

- It is helpful to have strong experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications related to structural steel.

- You should have good computer skills and be familiar with programs like Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.

- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field is preferred, but not necessary.
