Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with gastrointestinal conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care
  • Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal health
  • Conduct necessary diagnostic procedures and interpret results
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Requirements

**Position**: Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA)  

**Coverage Duration**: Immediate start (ASAP) for a minimum of 6 months preferred; 3-month contracts will be considered for continuity purposes.  

**Work Environment**: Outpatient clinic setting.  

**Schedule**: Full-time, Monday through Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00.  

**On-Call Duties**: No on-call responsibilities required.  

**Clinical Responsibilities**: The provider will focus exclusively on outpatient clinical duties, which include: initial patient consultations, reviewing and communicating pathology results, medication management, managing patient inbox follow-ups, and conducting general gastroenterology consultations. Candidates must possess prior gastroenterology experience.

 

**Patient Volume**: Anticipated case load of approximately 18 patients per day.  

**Electronic Medical Records (EMR)**: Utilization of EPIC system for patient documentation and management.  

**Qualifications**: Must be a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recognized by the American Hospital Association.
