77 Consultants is actively seeking a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to join our dedicated healthcare team in Los Angeles. This on-site, contract position offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical practice that prioritizes patient care and innovative treatments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
• Diagnose and develop treatment plans for gastrointestinal disorders
• Perform procedures as necessary under supervision
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to provide optimal patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding their health conditions
• Document patient histories and treatment plans accurately
• Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans
• Participate in continuous professional development and training

Requirements

**Position Overview: Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA)**

- **Coverage Duration:** Immediate start, with a preference for a 6-month commitment (3-month options may be considered for flexibility).

- **Work Environment:** Outpatient clinic setting.

- **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with potential flexibility in hours.

- **Clinical Responsibilities:** The role encompasses a mix of clinic and inpatient duties, including:

  - Conducting initial patient consultations.

  - Reviewing and communicating pathology results to patients.

  - Medication management and follow-up on inbox queries.  

- General GI patient consultations.

  - Morning rounding for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, followed by clinic responsibilities for the remainder of the day.  

 The provider must exhibit proficiency in performing paracentesis procedures, with an expected volume of 2-3 per day, and will operate independently supported by RN/LVN staff. Strong gastrointestinal experience is mandatory, along with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to fit within a positive team culture.

- **On-Call Duties:** None required.

- **Patient Volume:** Anticipated daily patient encounters range from 8-10 in the clinic, with morning rounds comprising the initial patient assessments.

- **Team Composition:** The NP/PA will support 12 GI physicians as coverage relief without additional NP/PA assistance.

- **Electronic Medical Records System:** EPIC. - 

**Certifications Required:** Candidates must be Board Certified and hold a current BLS certification from the American Hospital Association.
