This position is responsible for preparing all radiographic equipment prior to the execution of angiographic procedures, as well as processing and conducting quality control checks on cine radiographic images.
The incumbent will assist in preparing patients for procedures and support other members of the catheterization laboratory and Interventional Radiology staff, including physicians, to ensure the timely and efficient operation of the cardiac catheterization lab and specialized procedures.
The role encompasses a diverse range of technical procedures that necessitate independent judgment and ingenuity. Initiative is required to apply appropriate skills to facilitate accurate diagnoses. The individual may receive independent responsibilities assigned by the Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager.
Proper care of patients is mandated in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
The individual may also be tasked with supervisory or instructional responsibilities for department personnel as determined by the Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.
Adherence to infection control measures and body substance isolation practices during clinical procedures is essential, in compliance with departmental and hospital policies as well as OSHA standards. Maintaining patient confidentiality is a fundamental requirement at all times.
The position necessitates a demonstrated capability in operating the PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems, as well as proficiency in troubleshooting CR, DR, and PACS applications.
Attendance at annual mandatory educational sessions, including training on blood-borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation, is required. Furthermore, the incumbent must maintain departmental competencies as mandated.
**Qualifications:**
- A minimum of two years of current experience in Interventional Radiology.
- ARRT (RTR) Certification is required.
- Massachusetts License in Radiography and Mammography (MALIC(R)(M)).
- Experience with Meditech Expanse is strongly preferred.
- The ability to operate independently and efficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment.
- Attendance at all mandatory educational sessions is required.
