**Job Specific Position Duties:** 

The responsibilities associated with this position encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

- Coordinate appropriate referrals to community resources and relevant government agencies for services.

- Independently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members, formulating and implementing a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary treatment team.

- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and deliver psychosocial treatment to a diverse range of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other backgrounds.

- Utilize medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures, which include acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses/injuries, as well as common medications and their effects and side effects, employing relevant medical terminology.

- Implement varied treatment modalities while working with individuals, families, and groups experiencing a range of psychiatric, medical, and social challenges to achieve designated treatment goals.

- Deliver counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, couples, and families, ensuring compliance with the established limits of the relevant license or certification.

- Provide consultative services to other staff members regarding the psychosocial needs of patients and the implications of psychosocial issues on healthcare compliance and treatment.

- Engage in professional peer review case conferences, research studies, or other organizational duties as required at the military treatment facility (MTF). - Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as necessary.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in both Mental Health records and patient medical records for all patients seen, as appropriate, and prepare reports of evaluations and/or treatment as required.

- Participate in military-specific training programs (e.g., pre-deployment and post-deployment screening, PTSD, combat stress, etc.).

- Supervise and guide supporting government employees assigned to assist during clinical duties, promoting a team-oriented approach to staff and patient management.

- Undertake administrative responsibilities, which may include maintaining statistical records of clinical workload, participating in medical education programs, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives, along with fulfilling other duties as prescribed by the Flight Commander.

 

**Work Schedule:** 

Monday to Friday, with a total of nine working hours between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, inclusive of a one-hour lunch break.

**Minimum Qualifications:** - 

**Education:** Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). - 

**Experience:**

 A minimum of two years of relevant experience within the last five years; prior experience working with the Department of Defense (DOD) or the Veterans Affairs (VA) is highly desirable. -

**License:** An active, unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Social Worker from any state. - 

**Life Support Certification:

** A current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC). Note: BLS certification may be obtained upon acceptance, prior to the start date.

- **Security Clearance:** The applicant must have the ability to pass a government background check and security clearance.
