**Location:** Must live nearby or be able to drive to the job. -
**Work Schedule:** You will cover when others are on vacation or leave, but it will not be regular. -
**Patients:** You will work with patients who need cataract surgery. -
**Work Hours:** You will have guaranteed 8-hour workdays, but your schedule may change. -
**No On-Call Work:** You won’t be called to work outside of your scheduled hours. All surgeries are planned. - **Electronic Medical Records:** We use EPIC. You will take a 4-5 hour training class on it, and you will be paid for this training. -
**Working Alone:*
* You will work independently, but a doctor or surgeon will be present.
**Surgical Cases:** -
**Average Cases per Day:** You will handle 11 to 15 cataract surgeries and about 3 to 4 other types of surgeries. -
**No Pain Management Cases.** - **Trauma Level:** We handle level 4 trauma cases. -
**Emergency Room Volume:** We see around 5,000 patients each year in the ER.
**Operating Room Staff:** - We have surgical technicians (techs) and registered nurses (RNs) who work with doctors and surgeons. -
**Operating Rooms:** We have 2 operating rooms (ORs) where techs, RNs, and other nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) work together. -
**Surgeons:** There are several surgeons: one does hip and knee replacements, another does scopes (like viewing inside the body), and others perform cataracts and minor surgeries.
**Qualifications Needed:** -
**Experience Required:** You must have experience; new graduates are not accepted. -
**Required Skills:
** You need to perform general adult and pediatric surgeries, minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, regional anesthesia, manage ventilation, and local infiltration. You usually work with cataracts and procedures like colonoscopies, EGDs, and carpal tunnel surgeries. -
**Location Preference:** We prefer providers who live nearby because of the work shifts. -
**Credentialing Time:** It takes about one month or less to get credentialed for this job.
