This contract position is an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician looking to make a significant impact in the medical practice field, providing essential anesthetic care to patients.

As a Locum MD in Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia, monitoring patient vitals, and ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes and contributing to the overall efficiency of our medical team. 

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition
• Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to develop anesthesia care plans
• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and obtain informed consent from patients
• Manage postoperative pain relief and monitor recovery from anesthesia
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment
• Educate patients about anesthesia and address any concerns
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records of patient care

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Active medical license in the state of practice
• Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and patient management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p

Weeknight and weekend beeper call required

Patient Population: Adults and minimal healthy pediatrics

OB cases required

EMR: Epic

Board certification required

Paid travel & expenses
