This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work on-site, providing critical anesthetic care in a fast-paced medical environment.
As a Locum MD in Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia and monitoring patients throughout surgical procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and safety. This role is vital to our mission of delivering high-quality medical services within the cardiac surgery domain.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia as needed
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop anesthetic plans
- Provide pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Illinois
- Board certification in Anesthesiology
- Experience in Cardiac Anesthesiology preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of anesthetic techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts
Bread & butter cardiac cases (CABG, AVR, mitral valves, occasional aortic dissections, and occasional aortic cases)
Must be skilled with thoracic anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
