. This contract position is on-site, providing an excellent opportunity for physicians to engage in a dynamic environment dedicated to delivering exceptional pediatric care.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and comfort of our young patients undergoing surgical procedures. As a Locum MD, your expertise will contribute significantly to our team, collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality anesthesia care.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures
- Evaluate patients prior to anesthesia and assess their medical history
- Collaborate with surgical teams to determine anesthesia plans
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the anesthesia process
- Manage post-anesthesia care and monitor recovery
- Provide clear communication to patients and their families about anesthesia procedures
- Stay updated on advancements in anesthesia techniques and practices
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Anesthesiology
- Experience in Pediatric Anesthesiology is preferred
- Strong clinical skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Michigan
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Level I Pediatric Trauma
Schedule: 10-hour day shifts
Beeper call shifts required
8 ORs, 1 NORA
Team Structure: 6-7 MDs and 2-4 CRNAs
1:2 supervision or independent practice
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
