Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Evaluate and manage pre-operative and post-operative care for patients
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Provide expert consultation to other medical professionals
  • Participate in surgical rounds and case discussions
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active medical license to practice in the state of South Carolina
  • Associate-level experience in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Strong surgical skills and knowledge of cardiothoracic procedures
  • Excellent patient care and communication abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, specific dates

Required Procedures: CABG, aneurysm repair, and heart valve replacement

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
