We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents, making a significant impact on their mental health and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of projects aimed at diagnosing, treating, and supporting young patients dealing with mental health issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Provide medication management and monitor treatment progress.
  • Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings.
  • Document patient care and progress notes accurately and timely.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and developments in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) degree with specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Valid state medical license to practice.
  • Proven experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities for young patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Flexible Schedule: Monday-Friday, 25-30 hours per week

No call requirement

Average Daily Census: 25 patient encounters, 114 total patients

Average Length of Stay: 6-9 months

Patient Population: Children & adolescents with significant trauma experience

Duties: Medication management and case supervision

Support Staff: Psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and family medicine physician

Must be board-certified
