Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia as necessary
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and discuss anesthesia options with patients
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Provide post-operative care and manage any anesthesia-related complications
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
- Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology practices and technologies
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Current board certification in Anesthesiology
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Experience in a clinical anesthesiology setting
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and pharmacology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and patient-centered approach
Schedule: Friday (5p-7a) or weekends (7a-7a)
Annual Volume: 3,600 surgical cases
Case Types: Orthopedics, L&D, spine, GI, gynecology, urology, cath lab, interventional radiology, bariatric bypass, and minimal vascular cases
Support Staff: Anesthesiologists, CRNA, and anesthesia tech
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
