 This contract position is an on-site role that offers a unique opportunity to provide critical anesthesia services in a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality anesthetic care tailored to each patient's needs. This role not only allows you to make a significant impact on patient outcomes but also offers flexibility in your work schedule.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout surgical procedures
  • Evaluate patient medical histories and perform pre-anesthesia assessments
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient care
  • Manage post-anesthesia recovery and address any complications
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Stay updated on the latest anesthesiology practices and technologies
  • Provide exceptional patient care and address patient concerns pre- and post-procedure
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Active medical license to practice in the state of North Dakota
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology or eligibility for board certification
  • Previous experience in a clinical anesthesiology setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of anesthesia techniques and patient safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Schedule: 16-hour weekday shifts or 24-hour weekend shifts

In-house and beeper call

MDs are responsible for regional anesthesia, labor and delivery coverage, and all cardiac cases

Required Skills: Common regional blocks for orthopedics (adductor, interscalene, popliteal, and supraclavicular)

Support Staff: CRNA, OR staff

Medically directed, 1:4 CRNA supervision

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
