As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality anesthetic services, ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our practice, making a significant impact on patient outcomes. 

Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthetics to patients undergoing various surgical procedures
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthetic levels as needed
  • Consult with surgeons and medical staff to develop anesthetic plans
  • Provide pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards of care
  • Educate patients and their families about anesthesia and recovery
  • Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of New York
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Anesthesiology
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex cases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
  • Prior experience in a locum or similar role is preferred

Level II Trauma

Schedule: 7a-5p

Beeper call shifts required

Case Volume: 9k surgical cases per year, 3-4 CV cases per day

12 ORs, 9 NORAs

Case Types: Trauma, orthopedics, spine, vascular, endo, EP lab, and limited neuro; no OB or transplants

Cardiac Caseload: TAVRs, mitral clips, CABG, EP, watchman, etc.

Care Team Model: 9 MDs, 16 APPs

Supervision required

EMR: Medaxion and Meditech

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
