As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to the high standards of care that our practice is known for, and you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of cases within a supportive environment. 

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout surgical procedures
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and consultations with patients
• Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to develop anesthesia plans
• Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after anesthesia
• Manage any anesthesia-related complications and emergencies
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Stay updated on the latest anesthesia techniques and practices
• Provide guidance and support to nursing and medical staff regarding anesthesia

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Active medical license in the state of Virginia
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Anesthesiology
• Strong knowledge of anesthetic techniques and medications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
• Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory

Schedule: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts

1:7, 1:10, or 1:14 weeknight and weekend beeper call rotations

Shifts available at several facilities

Spinal, regional, and epidural anesthesia

Cases: Spine, OB, complex vascular, complex orthopedic, ventilation management, and central/arterial line insertion

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
