As a key member of our anesthesiology department, you will play a pivotal role in administering anesthesia and monitoring perioperative care for cardiac patients. Your expertise will significantly contribute to the successful outcomes of complex surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to develop anesthesia care plans
  • Conduct preoperative assessments to evaluate patient health
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout the perioperative period
  • Manage postoperative pain and anesthesia recovery
  • Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology and cardiac care
  • Provide support and guidance to nursing staff and surgical teams
  • Document patient care activities accurately and promptly

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with a valid medical license in the state of Nebraska
  • Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
  • Experience in cardiac anesthesiology preferred
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and patient care protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
  • Level I Trauma

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 to 10-hour shifts

Weeknight and weekend call shifts

Open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart cases

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

TEE certification required

Paid travel & expenses
