As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and managing a diverse range of gastrointestinal disorders. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal issues
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Educate patients and their families on gastrointestinal health and disease prevention
- Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology practices and treatments
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license to practice in Arizona
- Board certification in Gastroenterology or eligibility for certification
- Strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Procedures on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Evening and weekend call shifts required
Daily Volume: ~8 consults, ~10 procedures
Required Procedures: Colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, EGD, and ERCP
Support Staff: 2 APPs, anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
