Description
As a Locum MD/DO in Hematology Oncology, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and contributing to the advancement of treatment strategies. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and managing hematologic malignancies, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose and manage hematologic conditions and cancers
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in clinical rounds and patient consultations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Educate patients and families about treatment options and care plans
- Stay current with advancements in hematology oncology
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Hematology Oncology preferred
- Current medical license to practice in New Mexico
- Strong clinical skills and patient-centered approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in a hematology oncology setting is a plus
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p
Call Shifts: Monday-Friday, 4:30p-8a
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Will perform procedures including venous access, arterial puncture, fluid aspiration, bone marrow biopsies, and lumbar punctures
Will supervise and assist mid-level providers and trainees
Will participate in Tumor Board and Cancer Committee
EMR: CPRS
Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license accepted
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
