As a Locum Hematology Oncology physician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret results
- Provide ongoing management and support for patients undergoing treatment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about treatment options and care plans
- Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records
- Stay current with advancements in hematology oncology practices
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology Oncology
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in hematology oncology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
- Previous experience in a locum or contract role is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8a-5p) and Friday (8a-12p)
Call: 4 days per month, including 2 weekend days
Setting: Outpatient
Patient Volume: 18-20 per day
Hematology/medical oncology split
Support Staff: Hematologist Oncologists, Radiation Oncologist, APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
