As a Locum Hematologist Oncologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers, providing compassionate care to enhance patient outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert diagnosis and treatment for hematologic and oncologic conditions
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Conduct patient consultations and follow-ups
  • Perform necessary procedures and treatments as required
  • Participate in patient education regarding treatment options and health management
  • Document patient care activities in electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care and service delivery
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with advancements in hematology oncology

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Active medical license in the state of Missouri
  • Experience in Hematology Oncology, preferably in a clinical setting
  • Strong diagnostic and treatment skills related to blood disorders and cancers
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional growth

Schedule: 12-hour inpatient shifts or 4 to 8-hour outpatient shifts

Average Inpatient Volume: 5

Average Outpatient Volume: 10-20

Split hematology and medical oncology case load

Duties: Chemotherapy supervision/orders, bone marrow biopsies/aspirations, management of oncologic emergencies, and genetic testing/ counseling coordination

Support Staff: Oncology pharmacist, oncology RN, nurse navigator

Available Resources: On-site infusion center & radiation therapy

Will supervise APPs

Must be board-certified
