As a Locum MD / DO, you will provide specialized medical care, conduct thorough patient evaluations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance treatment plans for patients. Your expertise in hematology oncology will play a crucial role in supporting the goals of our clients and improving patient outcomes in the community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostics
- Develop individualized treatment plans for hematology oncology patients
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to provide high-quality care
- Participate in patient education and support initiatives
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in hematology oncology
- Provide consultation and guidance on complex case management
- Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Hematology Oncology preferred
- Associate-level experience in a clinical setting
- Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Committed to continuing medical education and professional development
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Virginia
Schedule: Monday-Friday with call
Daily Volume: 12-15 patients
Setting: 25% inpatient, 75% outpatient
Case Types: Primarily benign hematology
No solid oncology or malignant hematology
Support Staff: PAs, NPs, nurse navigators, medical assistants, and RNs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
