This contract position is on-site, providing a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of oncology while working with a diverse patient population.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality medical care to patients battling cancer. As a Locum Medical Oncologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various oncological conditions, collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of oncology patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Administer chemotherapy and other oncological therapies
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options and potential side effects
  • Participate in clinical research and trials as needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment
  • Experience in Medical Oncology preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of oncology treatments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems

Schedule: 3-4 days per week, 8a-4:30p

Call Requirement: 1 week in-house per month, Monday-Monday

Setting: Inpatient & outpatient

Case Mix: 70% oncology, 30% hematology

Support Staff: APP, RN, MA, pharmacist, social worker, nurse navigator

EMR: Epic

Dictation: Dragon

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
