This contract position offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical practice environment, providing vital care to newborns and their families.

As a Locum Neonatologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care to our youngest patients. You will be responsible for managing neonatal intensive care units, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for infants. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to neonates in a clinical setting
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
  • Monitor and manage critically ill newborns in the NICU
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment and progress
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in neonatology
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or eligibility in Neonatology
  • Active medical license in the state of practice
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice
  • Experience in a neonatal intensive care setting is preferred

Schedule: 7a-4p + overnight call

30-bed Level II NICU

Annual Admissions: 500 patients

Daily Volume: 18.5 patients

Patient Population: 65% Level II acuity, 35% Level III acuity, < 10 % Level IV acuity

Bread & butter neonatal procedures are required

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
