This contract, on-site position offers a unique opportunity for professionals at the associate level to contribute to our patient-centered approach in a dynamic healthcare environment.

As a Locum Pathologist, you will play a critical role in diagnosing diseases, overseeing laboratory operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pathology services. This position not only supports our clinical teams but also allows you to engage in meaningful patient care that directly impacts the community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic examinations on tissue samples and bodily fluids
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to discuss diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of pathology results
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advancements in pathology
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
  • Provide education and training to laboratory staff as needed
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education
  • Assist in the management of laboratory operations and protocols

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a residency in pathology
  • Valid medical license to practice in New York
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and technology
  • Commitment to patient care and ethical standards in practice

Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time or part-time

No call shifts

Daily Volume: 30 cases, mostly biopsies

General pathology

Diverse caseload, primarily GI biopsies

Grossing required

Support Staff: 3 additional pathologists, histotechnologists

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
